Inorganic Chemistry - Final Revision (ISC, Class 12)

Gear Up For ISC - March 2020 Examination

Dear students,

After going through two major parts of your ISC questions paper, here is the third part i.e. Inorganic Chemistry. This part covers 20 marks out of 70 in the ISC question paper.

The chapters in this section study of elements of p and d block with coordination compounds play a major role.

Major types of questions asked in this section are as follows:

(i) Metallurgy

The questions related to metallurgy should be answered with proper terms, conditions and balanced equations without the use of flowcharts.

(ii) Reasoning

The questions of reasoning should be answered with the cause and to the point explanation to clear it.

(iii) Reactions

Reactions related to the compounds of p and d block should be fully balanced.

(iv) Observations

The answers to the questions based on observations should contain a proper change in appearance and reagents that have caused them.

(v) Hybridization and shape

Coordination compounds generate major questions on hybridization which should contain the proper orbital diagrams depicting the shape and hybridization.

(vi) IUPAC name and isomerism

The other type of question that can be framed from coordination compounds are their IUPAC name with correct oxidation number of the central metal atom and the isomerism shown by any two compounds.

Type of isomerism

Structure of  EDTA
